the TALK about Mental Illness

To be honest, who doesn’t feel tired of all the bad perception or view of mental illness? We all wish we could tell them or at least if they’re willing to be educated, we wanted to sit with them and let them know about it. The frustration is REAL. The struggle is REAL. But here are some things you could do whenever you face negative talk about mental illness: Quick note: I quote these informations from a webinar with @safehaven.id 1. Note that you CAN’T CONVINCE EVERYONE Humans are built different from each other; our minds obviously won’t have the same thought about certain topic. Accepting the situation that we can not always convince everyone about the piece of information we share will help us to not become stressed about it. REMEMBER, ACCEPTANCE IS THE KEY. 2. Share what you have (whenever you can) Now… what did you do with piece of important information in your hand? SHARE IT! If its helpful for the mental health community, why not? If its helpful for others to broade...

Reset = Restart

Image
Pictures by  www.resettraining.net I was dumbfounded, devastated, and frustrated. The blue in front of me didn’t offer me any calm at all. Only fear and hopelessness. All the data that I’ve collected, all memories, music, and even videos that I cherish and listen to from time to time. Everything comes to me at once as my eyes are glued to the monitor in front of me. Clicking here and there, I try to restart it over and over again but you know the obvious result: nothing. I give up Turn it off and putting it back to where it belongs. When I finally bring it to where it can be fixed. I spend at least three days of the torment of when will things become better. Is this karma? Am I really that hopeless? All my data will be saved right? Trying my best to sprinkle a bit of hope in the middle of my darkened heart. Keep my head up, pushing it all aside, and try to not think much of it. Then my phone ring, “Your laptop is all fixed!” Oh! I was filled with pride and happi...

What Quarantine had Taught Me

Image
Pic Source:  Wall Street Journal Welcome to the eighth day of 2021. Is it good? Is it bad? It depends on what you face today. Many of us had trying to pick a new hobby, build a good habit and maybe doing something productive while we need to stay at home last year. Some of it might going well, some might be not but, we all learn something from quarantine (I hope so…) and here is mine: 1. Personal Space Pic source:  Centervention Some of us that stay with family, some stay alone in their apartment, some might have to stay with their roommate. One thing for sure, as I go through quarantine, as much as I love to be around people, I do hate it when my personal space got invaded without my permission. I do know they mean well… but sometimes relaxing alone in your room isn’t a bad idea. Each of us recharge ourselves in different ways, some might love the crowd, some love the quiet ambience, some of us love to chill with books, while others love to be active and doing phys...

a little story from home

Image
image by  Jerry Jenkins At the time you read this blog, I have been in my home since last month. I come here thinking that I would be literally jobless, staying at home and doing nothing. Yet what I found a month after is how busy I can be even when everything in this world is going literally downhill. We all know how chaotic this year is, many things have happened in each and every country that might affect our day to day life. To be honest, it is not easy to get through this hard time with so many people seems so reluctant to wear mask and keep a safe distance from each other. Yet here we are living the life we had today in the middle of this chaos. Moving on from that stressful topic… After graduating, I fully know how I will be so confused about my life and literally clueless on where to go or what to do. During the first couple of months of the pandemic, I decided to focus on my own self development, that’s why I start to work out and taking care of myself more. I...

Love & Hate: Powerful Chain

Image

Self-Blaming: One of the Deadly Root of Mental Illness

Image

SKETSA: Another Day to Sketch (A Café Review)

Image
Image by  @sketsakopi.id Semua bermulai dari betapa stuck -nya saya ketika ingin kembali menulis sesuatu. Writer block is suck indeed . Image by  @sketsakopi.id Pertama kali saya datang, it was so awkward, I felt like dying (for real) . I was enchanted by the menu book design . It was so cute and prett...

An Inspirational Look of What Women Can Do with their Passion, Dedication and Love

Image
pic Source: Goodread     Everything started from a simple question, “Do you like to read?” that question honestly threw me off a bit. Since I can’t quite recall the last time I take my time and actually read one book properly but a friend of mine, I usually call her Ce Nesa , asking me this question and I simply say, “Yes, I do like to read.” Now, here I am finally writing what I get from reading this book. Breaking Barriers: Portraits of Inspiring Chinese-Indonesian Women was published in 2012 and it aims to inspire everyone who read this, not just women, to pursue and achieve their dream. Aimee Dawis write this book in a journalistic style and she wish that it will be accessible for anyone who is interested in Indonesia, its people and its culture. As a reader, I can say that this book is really inspiring and the writer herself has tried her best to give us a good portrait of these inspiring women. This book started with a foreword from Krisnina Maharani Akbar Ta...
